reading-themed etegami call

I'm thrilled to be able to tell you about a fun etegami call conceived by librarian and etegami aficionado, Judy Brown.
Theme: Books, reading, libraries, or literacy
Send to: c/o Judy Brown, San Miguel Library, P.O.Box 86, San Miguel, CA, 93451 USA
Deadline: Etegami submissions must reach the San Miguel Library by June 12 to be included in the exhibit.
You may mail your etegami as-is, but if you want it to be better protected, I suggest sending it in an envelope. You may submit as many as you want, but your etegami can not be returned to you.
Here's the original notice that Judy posted on the Etegami Fun Club page on Facebook.
"San Miguel Library will have a special program of Japanese drummers and more to celebrate the annual summer reading program and Japanese culture. A display of Etegami would be a wonderful addition. If you would like to send an etegami about books, reading, libraries, or literacy, please mail them to San Miguel Library, P.O.Box 86, San Miguel, CA, 93451
Thank you!"

  2. Aaaaawww! I wish I can do etegami. This is s great topic. I often draw my subjects reading even though the book may be on the side. Heheh. Your rabbit looks like our pet rabbit, Snowflake. She is five years old now. Have a great day.

  4. Oh that is a wonderful little rabbit and reading so intelligently! I've never known a rabbit who really reads, though they like eating newspapers or even books!

    1. Maria, that's fine as long as people understand that it has to be traditional Etegami. The event at which the work will be displayed is an event celebrating traditional Japanese culture. If it isn't traditional etegami, it might not get displayed.

  8. hello,Debbie! thanks for your reply. I have indicated all the same information as provided in the post, above all added info about the form of the wanted cards. I believe there aren't many etegami drawers in that group but who knows someone might get inspired to begin.
