illustration friday (puzzled 2)

This is one of a series of etegami which I've been working on to give my husband on our 35th wedding anniversary. It's the first time I ever thought of making him an etegami as a gift. It makes me a little nervous to think too much about it. I am rather self-conscious about overt expressions of love. I hope it's not too subtle to get the message across.

  1. Who better to make etegami for than those we love? I don't think it is too subtle, the message is loud and clear and very very nice, congratulations when you get to that milestone!

  3. How sweet that you're nervous about giving him your art as a gift. It's funny, isn't it? I mean, I've given art to my kids and friends, but not to my husband (of only 34 years)either. Now you've inspired me!!

  8. Oh, this strikes exactly the right note if you ask me. I too am long-married & I appreciate that unspoken connectedness (so beautifully captured in your etegami), but it's also good to say out loud what's in your heart sometimes...

Have the happiest anniversary, both of you!

  11. It a lovely and loving thing to do. The art we cherish and create makes a most tender and meaningful gift. You are sweetly shy about sharing, but I am sure he will feel loved and valued through this gift from your heart and hands. Happy Celebrations!
