illustration friday (winter)
Harness bells accompanied by a quote from one of my favorite winter poems, Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening by Robert Frost. This poem always brings back fond memories from my childhood, before paved roads and snowplows became common in rural Hokkaido, and we rode in horse-drawn sleds to visit our friends during the New Year holiday.

Horses have a profound place in my life and your solution to this week's IF really touched me and made me go back and read Frost's poem. I love your harness bells and can almost smell the leather. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteThis is my favorite Robert Frost poem. We sing it at school as a choral piece with elementary children. Brings to mind the old fashioned winter.
ReplyDeleteThis work speaks to all senses and to the heart and the imagination too. It is so apparently simple, yet so perfect in lines, colors and composition, this is really great art. And I love the way you harmonize eastern and western culture.
ReplyDeleteA Happy New Year!
